Inside Passage

The first and probably most common Alaska Cruise Itinerary is what is refered to as "Inside Passage Cruise". This itinerary allows you to experience the Alaska Gold Rush Towns on a 7 day roundtrip cruise from either Vancouver or Seattle. A longer itinerary from San Francisco as well as some specific itineraries at the beginning and end of the Alaska cruise season (see cruise calendar) are also available. A further distinguishing factor of Inside Alaska Passage Itineraries is the "included ports of call" and if either Glacier Bay National Park or Hubbard Glacier are part of your Alaska Cruise Vacation.

North or South Itineraries

The Alaska Cruises on this 7 day itinerary primarily originate in Vancouver for the northbound or Seward/Whittier (ports for Anchorage) for the 7 day southbound cruise. You fly into one city and return from another city to your hometown. The Alaska ports included are the same, but more of them, as those on the Inside Passage. However an important addition is, that this itinerary gives you the option to experience an Alaska Cruisetour, a sea and land vacation to Denali National Park and optional attractions such as fishing, river rafting and more. The menu above will give you north and southbound Alaska itineraries for 2008. The southbound itinerary seems more popular although the reason is somewhat obscure unless a particular cruisetour from Holland America is chosen.
